OUR HISTORY
Flynn Lumber & Supply Co. was established in the fall of 1945 when Raymond Flynn returned to Gladwin from serving as a Sergeant in World War II. Ray and his brother Jim formed a partnership and the business began.
Ray's business experience came from his many years employment at Goldberg’s Department Store, where he worked as teenager. The business started while sharing space with a veterinarian and using the old hose tower building from the fire department.
Flynn Lumber & Supply Co. grew and expanded in that tight location until 1969 when the location was bought to use as a local bank which is now the location of PNC Bank in Gladwin. About 1970 the business moved to a new location at 2465 W M-61, one mile east of Gladwin, where it continues to grow today. Tim Flynn was named president of the company in 1988.
In January 2023 Jerram Dee and Jason Hubble reached an agreement with the Flynn Family to purchase Flynn Lumber & Supply Co, where they serve as president and vice president respectively.
Flynn Lumber & Supply Co. is a great success story. A family business in a small town, it continues to serve the community from a modern showroom and warehouse. Flynn Lumber contributes to several community efforts, school programs, sports, Habitat For Humanity, and many other organizations.
This year we celebrate 78 years in the mid-Michigan community and are excited to provide the same, time-tested values to further generations.
